The Evenninnen were a tribe of warrior women, who inhabited the Forest of Evennor.
The Evenninnen are a tribe of women, who fight with the strength of a bear and the agility of a lizard-monkey. Their shamans posses the power to control plants and earth. There are no men allowed. To procreate a woman of the tribe ventures out of the forest and finds herself a man deemed worthy. After she has been impregnated the man is sacrificed by the shaman to the gods.
Their houses are build in trees.
The Evenninnen fight with weapons made of wood, stone and bone, which they infuse with earthenly magic to increase their deadlyness. Their armor is made from leather, hide and leaves, decorated with bones.
They are skilled archers and spear-fighters. Even their young know basic earth- and plant-magic.
Not much is known about their history, for the Evenninnen stay mostly isolated within the confines of their forest. They do not trade nor do they exchange knowledge with outsiders. Their hatred of Elves however is well known. This very hatred led them to ally with the Kingdom of Balior.
They successfully helped Balior to defeat the Elves in the First Balior-War, but they would not live long enough to help during the second, because the crown of the First Elvish Empire itself became interested in Asthafar's southern lands. Thus an army marched to Evennor in 212 EC. A battle was fought beneath the trees for three days, during which the Elves took heavy losses, but alas the Evenninnen were outnumbered and outskilled by the elvish battle-mages, despite the aid of Balior. Their tribe was completly annihilated and their tree-village burned to the ground.
