Neverwinter Nights
Act 1

After putting 50 hours into "Cult of the Reptile God" and "Crimson Tides of Tethyr", I finally decided to play through the actual main campaign of Neverwinter Nights. So far I have completed Act 1 and started Act 2. This part is about Act 1.
For my character I chose one of the premade ones, a ranger named Isiolith Geladie, though I quickly started playing her more like a fighter, because I wasn't a huge fan of bow and arrow and I ended up getting a Greatsword +1 (which is as big as my character's model lol). The story goes as follows: The city of Neverwinter is plagued by a strange plague. We have been hired by Aribeth De Tylmarande, a paladin of Tyr and leader of the ongoing effort to cure the plague, to find four waterdhavian creatures, who had been brought to Neverwinter, for they can be used in a ritual to cure the plague. The story is rather interesting, but the gameplay in Act 1 is sadly rather boring. You have to go into the four districts of Neverwinter and find the creatues. The districts all look the same (which makes sense I guess, they're all in the same city afterall). Each creature has some kind of gimmick, like the Intellect Devourer possessing people, but that doesn't really help to make it less tedious. Act 2 is so far way more fun. Anyways we end up finding the four creatures and prepare the ritual. With us are not just Aribeth and Lord Nasher of Neverwinter, but also Fenthick (Aribeth's lover) and Desther (a priest of Helm). But oh no, it turns out Desther is not really a priest of Helm, but an impostor. He has taken over nearby Helms Hold and has spread the plague all throughout Neverwinter with his men. Alas we defeat Desther and he is burned at the stake. However the people of Neverwinter are looking for someone to blame. The blame falls on Fenthick, because he trusted Desther and without him he wouldn't have been able to executed his plans. So he gets hanged, which of course upsets Aribeth greatly. It also turns out that Desther was part of the Cult of the Eye, who worship the Old Ones (which sounds rather lovecraftian lol). So now we are off in Act 2 to find the cult and take revenge for Neverwinter!
